How do your services work?

Step 1: Request a sample edit. Your book is like your baby, and I want you to be able to trust me with it. I will edit 1,000 words for FREE to ensure that we are a good fit and that you trust me to handle your story.

Step 2: Once a sample is complete and we agree to work together, I will provide a detailed contract of the agreed services, deadlines, and payment terms. I require a signed contract and a 30% deposit to book your spot.

Step 3: You send me your manuscript three business days before the contracted start date.

Step 4: Once you receive my edits, take your time going through them! I am happy to discuss any questions you have regarding my edits or suggestions in detail. Ultimately, it’s your book. I want you to be happy with my editing services, and I want to see your book succeed.

What genres do you edit?

I love stories of any genre. You write it – I’ll do my part to help you pull it together! I also edit non-fiction. Having spent much of my career writing and editing business copy, I will also accept non-fiction works. The only thing I pass on is highly technical writing. 

What style do you edit in?

I provide edits in your preferred style: AP, APA, MLA, or other. I also honor any special requests, such as the use of the Oxford comma and pronouns, and will pay special attention to areas of concern that you point out.

What file formats do you use?

I edit in Microsoft Word and Google Docs. If you have a different format, let’s chat!

Is there a cancellation policy?

If you cancel your editing project before it begins, you will get your 30% deposit back, minus a $50 cancellation fee. If you cancel my services mid-project, you will be billed $50 an hour for the completed work.

What are your guarantees?

I want you to be completely happy with the outcomes of my work, but keep in mind that I am human (no AI used here!) and can’t guarantee that your manuscript will be completely error-free. Like in-house editors, I aim for a 95% accuracy rate. I do not offer refunds, but I want you to be happy with my work, and I will work with you to come to an agreeable solution for both of us.
