How do your book editing services work?
What genres do you edit?
I love stories of any genre. You write it – I’ll do my part to help you pull it together! I also edit non-fiction. Having spent much of my career writing and editing business copy, I will also accept non-fiction works. The only thing I pass on is highly technical writing.
What style do you edit in?
I provide edits in your preferred style: AP, APA, MLA, or other. I also honor any special requests, such as the use of the Oxford comma and pronouns, and will pay special attention to areas of concern that you point out.
What file formats do you use?
I edit in Microsoft Word and Google Docs. If you have a different format, let’s chat!
Is there a cancellation policy?
If you cancel your editing project before it begins, you will get your 30% deposit back, minus a $50 cancellation fee. If you cancel my services mid-project, you will be billed $50 an hour for the completed work.
What are your guarantees?
I want you to be completely happy with the outcomes of my work, but keep in mind that I am human (no AI used here!) and can’t guarantee that your manuscript will be completely error-free. Like in-house editors, I aim for a 95% accuracy rate. I do not offer refunds, but I want you to be happy with my work, and I will work with you to come to an agreeable solution for both of us.
